The annual one-day festival brings together students from our school and several hundred students from LAUSD public schools around the city for a day of workshops, panels, round-table discussions, and readings.
The festival features poets from Los Angeles and around the country; last year it was led by keynote speakers Sharan Strange and Douglas Kearney, and included special guests Amanda Gorman, Kyland Turner, Kat McGill, and many others.
We’re looking forward to an even more fantastic festival this year, with more poets, more students, partnerships with local literary organizations, and opportunities for the Los Angeles literary community to take part – and Jacqueline Woodson, National Book Award winner and Young People’s Poet Laureate, as our keynote speaker.
